SHUT THE FUCK UP.
A confident person does whatever the fuck they feel like doing because they are CONFIDENT. I hate this shit so much.

I used to be one of those girls who made all the stereotypical remarks about feminism “Oh, I hate feminists, we’re already equal what are they trying to do? I believe in equality, not women’s rights….” I remember one incident, in the tenth grade. The grad theme that year was “A Night At The Roxbury” and the mural was supposed to be 4 women - their heads conveniently not in the frame - waiting in line to get in the club. All had the coveted hourglass figures in the extreme, and that was the only distinguishing feature. Of course, administration did not approve, so they made one of them a man, giving him a massive crotch bulge. I didn’t see the big issue with this mural, I thought there was no reason to have changed it.
Fast forward through the rest of highschool, I spent my time saying girls were “bitches” and I got along with boys better - just the regular bullshit “cool” girls say to pretend they aren’t setting the feminist movement back about a hundred years every time they make these kinds of genralizations.
Now i’m in university. I’m a poli sci major. I see now that I was a feminist all along, but I had fallen for society’s tricks about women, I was a slut-shaming ignorant girl, and I knew nothing. I learned a lot about feminism in my poli sci class first semester, that I was a feminist all along, and that admitting to hating feminism doesn’t make you seem cool or modern, it makes you seem stupid. It’s along the same lines as calling things you don’t like “gay” or “retarded” in my opinion, both practices I dropped early into highschool, when I realized words aren’t “just words”
I am a feminist. Hate me, love me, whatever you want. Call me whatever you want: bitch, slut, cunt, anything. Any nasty word you have. It doesn’t bother me.
And while we’re on the topic, why is cunt the ultimate insult? Why is it so negative? If I called you a cock would you laugh or be offended? same with erection, woodie, or straight up penis? Why is the most negative word a representation of FEMALE genitalia? It’s something I always believed but didn’t realize could be construed as feminism… why is our society so offended by the word “vagina” when penis jokes are so funny?
this is a random rant… I don’t know why I felt the need to post this now, at 2:14 in the morning on May 15, but I did. Hope it makes some sense to you all. :/
