Kirsten Said What?!

Hi, my name is Kirsten and you're going to have to give me a second to get my other foot in my mouth. I'm a political science student in Calgary just trying to get through school intact.

SATURDAY NIGHT MUSIC CLUB #35

Cursive - Driftwood: A Fairy Tale

Certainly one of the most influential bands in my life, Cursive delivers their masterpiece fondly known as “The Ugly Organ”.  Largely responsible for my drab, poignant, realist approach to lyric (probably more prevalent in my bleeding heart “wimpy” prose), Tim Kasher strikes a vital nerve for me on this album.  I’m also (to this very day) still enthralled by Domestica, their previous full length piece.  I hope you appreciate, and if not, no offense.  I’ll never pull my punches.  DISCUSS.

“SHE KNEW ABOUT THOSE WOODEN BOYS. ITS THE EMPTY LOVE TO FILL THE VOID.”

I know I’m a little bit late to be reblogging this… but it’s an amazing song, and my favourite SNMC choice to date. William Beckett always chooses a song that means something and I really respect that. Happy Sunday, Earthlings.
